We all seek effectiveness in our work and our relationships. Philosophically, what can we learn from yoga to create more of the things we want and let go of some things we would like to give up? What can you do to increase your inner power? Join Chris for a conversation on ethics joined with a yang then yin flowing practice designed to open body and mind. Learn what the basic principles of non-violence and truthfulness mean in everyday life. Where is the foundation of happiness? The answer may surprise you. All levels of fitness, practice, and experience are encouraged to attend.

A large part of beginning a committed yoga practice is learning to practice at home, and taking it with you as you travel through the world. Sometimes life gets in the way and classes are just not convenient. You can still do yoga; you can still develop your own practice. Real yoga is you on your mat and off. It is you living fully present to every situation, and every interaction.
Our intention in this workshop is to give you the basics of what you need to begin a practice on your own. Yes, these are some of the “secrets.” Don’t tell the yoga police! Class is great, please keep coming and practicing with us. We think that you will get a lot more out of class if you begin to do some things on your own, and our intention in providing yoga is giving it to you…what you do with it is up to you.
You Will Learn:
The power of intention
Breath work
The meaning of vinyasa and its practice
Varied sun salutations
Basic asana
Basic sequencing
Methods of practice/styles of yoga
Working with injury
Bring your questions, something to take notes, water/small towel, and come dressed to practice. This will not be a traditional class, but you will still sweat!
Chris Brown completed his 200 hour teacher training at North Main Yoga in 2008 and his 500 hour certification at the Asheville Yoga Center in 2009. He teaches All Levels and Gentle Vinyasa, Beginners, Yin and Meditation classes at Dharma.
